Guess where is this place?? It's Lub d Bangkok - Siam Square!! This hostel is in the Siam Square quarter, renowned as the best hangout area in Bangkok. We got it all here: culture, entertainment, eats, espresso joints, shopping, bars, clubs, etc. I like the stay there. Everything is just nice : the staffs, the environment and the cleanliness. Most importantly, the place we stayed is just very near to malls and places we want to go. It's like double good!!
We reached Lub d at night and we went around hunting for food. After having a cheap and scrumptious meal, we hanged around Lub d - having a drink and planning for our itinerary for the next day. We thought of going to the Tiger Zoo ( I think its call Tiger Zoo.. I forgotten what is that called) You can actually be near to those tigers and you may touch them too. Sounds scary but those tigers don't bite - as mentioned by the authorities!! LOL.. but it freaked me out knowing those tigers were not caged. Anyway, we didn't went there. We went to the floating market and railway market instead. Talking about some uniqueness Malaysia can't find.

All the finger-licking food we have tasted!! Even at 7-Eleven. |
The next day - heading for a walk around markets. Eating and buying things as usual. Ha-ha!
Taking a long boat to Damneon Saduak Floating Market, we have to ensure we don't fall into the water, it's just too dirty! The water is brownish black with unidentified floating object.. LOL!! (as if we would fall. Thankfully we did not!!! ) = = "
Brownish black and/or green water = =" |
You can buy almost anything at floating market |
Make a stop to grab some lunch here |
After the floating market, we headed to Maeklong Railway Market. Sellers were selling their goods on the side of the railway train whereby the fact that a train will runs through the market 8 times a day. Unbelievable right?? We were amazed by how the people does that. Cool!!
This is how we can just walk on the railway itself.. Can you imaging what happens when the train is here? Any signal?? |
Wonder if they would take note on the train while buying and selling.. I think no.. = =' |
End of the railway track |
The train |
Bought my first item - A pair of sweet doll shoe at only 25o Baht. Comfortable for walking and its sweet pink.
I wasn't feeling well on my first night there. Forgot to bring my first aid back home. Sigh!! We should always remember to bring some pain killer, gastric medication and all sort that helps during emergency. Anyhow, I just went to grab some paracetamol at the pharmacy. Sob sob!! Need to get an early rest the first night. Down!!
Don't know why the tablets is also in pink. So girly kind of medication.. Haha |
Got better the next day!! And its shopping time. We went to The Platinum Fashion Mall. It's Thailand Largest Fashion Mall and the price is superb cheap. They are selling at wholesale pricing. How not to buy? You could get good quality item if you know how to find them. They have various range from fashion clothing, children wear, leather goods, gift and souvenir shops to accessories! We literally shopped for more than 3 hours and to be frank it's just not enough. If it's not that we are tired, the journey shall continues. LOL.. Anyway, after taking a break for meal, we continued our shopping marathon.. Madness for shopping!!
Another one of the mall - MBK |
Its sale everywhere!! |
We actually bought lots of things - clothes, shoes, clothing, souvenirs and bags!! We had so much fun because we spend little to get lots of things. Most of all, we were all satisfied. You can easily get anything at where ever you walked.

The street of Bangkok |
Unique decoration by the road side |
We went to Chinatown for dinner. Hunting for seafood. LOL.. It is a popular tourist attraction and a food haven for those who loves to explore the vibrant street-side cuisine. Packed with market stalls, street-side restaurants and a dense concentration of gold shops, a place to experience that we should not miss.
To me, Bangkok is a shopping haven!! There you go - another Chatuchak Weekend Market that I went. I am at one of the world's largest weekend markets that covers area of 27 arces altogether divided into 27 sections and contains more than 15,000 booths selling goods from every part of Thailand. Not 150 booths ok!! We almost gone mad. Dunno where to start shopping!! Every booth literally made us stop by. Too much of good stuff to explore on and again, couldn't remember how much time we had spent there!!
Best of all, we have great companies of buddies whom were there together!!
Not to miss this - Shopping at the airport |
Too few or too many?? You judge?? :-D |
Going back home after a great holiday is always dragging. Nevertheless, the great adventure and experience that would matter most. Every time I leave a place, I shall turn around and says " I will be back" LOL!!! Guess what, am planning to go back to Bangkok again this year!!
YIP-PIE!! Till the next post then, chok dee!! ^_^
