My 'Lub*d' Experience

Lub*d was rated as "One of the 17 coolest hangout hostels in the world" by Britain's influential daily, The Observer. As mentioned in my last blog entry, I was in this hostel on my first trip to Bangkok.  I will definitely choose to stay here again on my upcoming trip.

Located at Siam Square quarter, Lub*d  is renowned as the best hangout area in Bangkok. At Siam, they have it all -  the culture, entertainment, food, espresso joints,  shopping, etc.  Also, with its strategic location,  we could easily walk around Bangkok for shopping, sight seeing and many more..

The top view of Lub*d

I went with four of my gal friends and we got the ladies dorm (four in a room) Basically we had the whole room together. FUN!! I love the details of cleanliness and safety of Lub d. Even though, we are sharing bathrooms but the area are so large and super clean. I have seen cleaners coming at designated hours to clean the bathroom. We really love them for keeping the area clean. Aside, there are free usage of shower gels and most importantly hairdryers - A must in every hostel/hotel - otherwise how to look pretty?? Haha..

The door of the bathroom
Wash area - brushing teeth and washing face

What about their safety features? - They are equipped  with fire protected emergency exits, fire & smoke alarms, closed-circuit TV cameras and also electronic key card access. So if you are just visitor, there are no way to access to the dorm. Unless someone is bringing you in.

You need key card access here :-D
Let's look at the bedroom. Equipped with cabinet that allowed you to keep all your belonging.  This is attached with a lock. All my stuff can be kept there safely. How not to love this simple yet clean and nice place to rest for the night.

My bed on the top.. It's cosy..
Decoration on the wall

Comes with attached rack and lighting beside every bed
Bed Number on the wall, pillow and blanket
So the bed and room is impressive enough right? What about the rest of the facilities? They have the cafe and bar, the lobby, viewpoint theater, free internet and wifi (wow!!), free luggage storage and also laundry area. I feel like home at Lub*d and I believe this is what travelers would want to have in any place that the choose to stay ^_^

So you've got sanitary pad, washing powder and even condom!! Haha

Washing machine with dryer too..

Let's have some fun with water gun..
on the way to theater..

5 Minutes : Gorgeously Eyes

We usually want to look gorgeous and always hope for a simpler way or little time to get eye make up done. When I first tried it, I am not really good at doing it. To some, we may dislike the fact that we have to spend extra hours in the morning to look good, especially when we just want to get extra beauty sleep..

Today, I manage to get it done in a barely nude and easy eye make-up  ^_^

Below are few of items that I am currently using. I love those brands as they are really doing great on my skin - Majolica Majorca, Etude, Koji and Garnier. Thumbs up for them!!

1) Garnier Light BB Instant Fairness Eye Roll- On
2) Etude Proof 10 Eye Primer
3) Majolica Majorca Automatic Liner
4) Koji Eyelashes Curler
5) Majolica Majorca Lash Gorgeous Wing Mascara

These items will always be in my make-up bag where ever I go. How do I get my eyes done in 5 minutes? Firstly, I applied the Light BB Instant Fairness BB Eye Roll-On. I just need to roll on and tab gently until the cream is evenly blended on my lower and upper eyes area. Then, I applied the Proof 10 Eye Prismer for my make-up to stay put for at least 8 hours. After that, I applied my Majolica  Majorca Automatic Liner. This part is a little tricky for first timer but no worries. You will get used to it after several practices. Do remember, practice makes perfect!!

after eyeliner application

After liner, I am using the Koji Eyelashes to curl up my lashes. I have learned that by using hair dryer to warm the curler  for seconds will help to curl our lashes beautifully.  Please remember to test the heat before you put on your lashes. You don't want your lashes to burn. ==" Lastly, I put on my Gorgeous Wing Mascara and voila ~ pretty radiant eyes ~

Mascara without fake lashes!! Thank God for my big eyes and long lashes :-)

What is so good about what I am currently using? That's a lot. First, the Garnier Light BB Instant Fairness Eye Roll-On - it helps to micro-circulate the undereye area (Yes, I applied it on my upper eyes area too) This 10 instant visible effects is easily spread and it has a natural nude coverage. It gives fairer, fresher, smoother, firmer, less dark spots, less dark circles, hydrating, even toned, radiant and less tired eyes. This product is dermatologically tested and suitable for sensitive skin. I always have tired eyes. Hence, this product really helps me.

Etude Proof 10 Eye Primer - It supplies coverage to eyelids and around the eyes to enhance eye shadow color for longer lasting "perfect 10" look throughout the day. Even though I am not using any eye shadow for this make-up, I want my eyeliner to last all day long.

Majolica Majorca Automatic Liner - This is a waterproof gel type eye liner but easily removed with any types of make-up remover.  You can create the thickness of the lines according to your preference.

Koji Eyelashes Curler - Oh, super love this. Been with me for 2 years plus. I bought this from Hong Kong Sasa. It curled up my lashes easily and it doesn't makes my lashes drop. A superb quality item. Why Japanese brand is always in such a good quality? Even the people are just so warmth and nice (as shared by many bloggers) Yes, I want to go Japan one day!!

Majolica Majorca Lash Gorgeous Wing Mascara - Another one of my favourite Japanese item. I have been using this mascara for years and still using it. I love that this mascara gave me the feeling of having extra lashes. It is so easy to apply and doesn't smudge at all. After using my curler, I just need to apply one coat of the mascara and my lashes stay curled for at least 6 hours. I can always reapply if I need to.

I don't need to spend lots of time right now as with my many practices, I manage to perk up my eyes in 5 minutes.  Love love love to the max.. :-D

Pretty ladies!! let's continue explore more on what best for our skin and what best to our liking. Comments and input are welcome!! Tell me more...

Its all about BKK

I am gonna blog about my first time going to Bangkok. It was awesome as I went with a group of great buddies; they love travelling and we enjoy every single moment of it. I was told ahead that things are so cheap and I can shop a lot especially on clothing - dresses, blouse, pants, shorts, bra, etc.. the list goes on!! So it was like shop till you drop??!!! Ha-ha

However, the weather is freaking hot. So sunblock, BB cream and all sorts were in my luggage back then.. Of course its necessary - to protect me from UV rays aside from looking pretty ^_^ I feel guilty walking out of the house without any protection. Love our skin!!

Packed as little clothes as possible. Reason being - I am going for a shopping cum holiday. So why need to pack so many clothes?? As light as possible, pack a few of my most lightweight dresses, blouses and shorts.

Its a four days three nights short trip. Took us four hours to reach Suvarnabhumi Airport. Excited to the max when we reached BKK. Our first mission is to look out for our hostel. It's a great experience having to stay in a hostel rather than hotel. You meet different kind of people from all over the world. The hostel says "Everyone leaves as a friend"!!

Walk around Siam Square - they have everything so attractive!!

Guess where is this place?? It's Lub d Bangkok - Siam Square!! This hostel is in the Siam Square quarter, renowned as the best hangout area in Bangkok. We got it all here: culture, entertainment, eats, espresso joints, shopping, bars, clubs, etc. I like the stay there. Everything is just nice : the staffs, the environment and the cleanliness. Most importantly, the place we stayed is just very near to malls and places we want to go. It's like double good!!

We reached Lub d at night and we went around hunting for food. After having a cheap and scrumptious meal, we hanged around Lub d - having a drink and planning for our itinerary for the next day. We thought of going to the Tiger Zoo ( I think its call Tiger Zoo.. I forgotten what is that called) You can actually be near to those tigers and you may touch them too. Sounds scary but those tigers don't bite - as mentioned by the authorities!! LOL.. but it freaked me out knowing those tigers were not caged. Anyway, we didn't went there. We went to the floating market and railway market instead. Talking about some uniqueness Malaysia can't find.

All the finger-licking food we have tasted!! Even at 7-Eleven.

The next day - heading for a walk around markets. Eating and buying things as usual. Ha-ha!

Taking a long boat to Damneon Saduak Floating Market, we have to ensure we don't fall into the water, it's just too dirty! The water is brownish black with unidentified floating object.. LOL!! (as if we would fall. Thankfully we did not!!! ) = = "

Brownish  black and/or green water = ="
You can buy almost anything at floating market
Make a stop to grab some lunch here

After the floating market, we headed to Maeklong Railway Market. Sellers were selling their goods on the side of the railway train whereby the fact that a train will runs through the market 8 times a day. Unbelievable right?? We were amazed by how the people does that. Cool!!

This is how we can just walk on the railway itself.. Can you imaging what happens when the train is here? Any signal??

Wonder if they would take note on the train while buying and selling.. I think no.. = ='
End of the railway track
The train
Bought my first item - A pair of sweet doll shoe at only 25o Baht. Comfortable for walking and its sweet pink.

I wasn't feeling well on my first night there. Forgot to bring my first aid back home. Sigh!! We should always remember to bring some pain killer, gastric medication and all sort that helps during emergency. Anyhow, I just went to grab some paracetamol at the pharmacy. Sob sob!! Need to get an early rest the first night. Down!!

Don't know why the tablets is also in pink. So girly kind of medication.. Haha
Got better the next day!! And its shopping time. We went to The Platinum Fashion Mall. It's Thailand Largest Fashion Mall and the price is superb cheap. They are selling at wholesale pricing. How not to buy? You could get good quality item if you know how to find them. They have various range  from fashion clothing, children wear, leather goods,  gift and souvenir shops to accessories! We literally shopped for more than 3 hours and to be frank it's just not enough. If it's not that we are tired, the journey shall continues. LOL.. Anyway, after taking a break for meal, we continued our shopping marathon.. Madness for shopping!!

Another one of the mall - MBK
Its sale everywhere!!
We actually bought lots of things - clothes, shoes, clothing, souvenirs and bags!! We had so much fun because we spend little to get lots of things. Most of all, we were all satisfied. You can easily get anything at where ever you walked.

The street of Bangkok

Unique decoration by the road side

We went to Chinatown for dinner. Hunting for seafood. LOL.. It is a popular tourist attraction and a food haven for those who loves to explore the vibrant street-side cuisine. Packed with market stalls, street-side restaurants and a dense concentration of gold shops, a place to experience that we should not miss.

To me, Bangkok is a shopping haven!! There you go - another Chatuchak Weekend Market that I went. I am at one of the world's largest weekend markets that covers area of 27 arces altogether divided into 27 sections and contains more than 15,000 booths selling goods from every part of Thailand. Not 150 booths ok!! We almost gone mad. Dunno where to start shopping!! Every booth literally made us stop by. Too much of good stuff to explore on and again, couldn't remember how much time we had spent there!!

Best of all, we have great companies of buddies whom were there together!!

Not to miss this - Shopping at the airport
Too few or too many?? You judge?? :-D
Going back home after a great holiday is always dragging. Nevertheless, the great adventure and experience that would matter most. Every time I leave a place, I shall turn around and says " I will be back" LOL!!! Guess what, am planning to go back to Bangkok again this year!!

YIP-PIE!! Till the next post then, chok dee!! ^_^

Buh Bye Bangkok!! We will visit you real soon!!

DHC Cleansing Oil

On my last post, I was sharing about BB Cream. We knew we must double cleanse even if we are using only sunblock. This post I am gonna share with you on this cleansing oil that I personally love. This is actually a free gift from a foundation I bought. I superb love this item. I never like to use cleansing oil as I don't like the sticky feeling. But this one is exceptional.

Tadah!! It's this brand - DHC Cleansing Oil

Found this pic from goggle.. Likes the way the water splash..
So what do I love about this item - This is an amazing cleanser and its a very popular item. Free of paraben and chemical. This is what I loved most. It claims to cleanse dirt, excess oil and make up - even on waterproof mascara and eyeliner.  It dissolve easily, leaving our face a grime-free zone that is soft to the touch. Aside, its unique water-soluble formula rises completely, so we never see a greasy residue. Another important ingredients, olive oil and vitamin E - it helps to ensure we wont see dryness.

This is not just a statement that DHC claims but as I use this cleansing oil, I literally agree that what mentioned is just for real.

This is good to know. The ingredients of this cleansing oil :-

Olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride, sorbeth-30 tetraoleate, pentylene glycol, phenoxyethanol, tocopherol, stearyl glycyrrhetinate, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf oil

This is what I've got as a freebie!! It's 30ml.

Its easy on how to use it :-

Dispense into dry hands, then massage dry face to dissolve makeup, dirt and other impurities. Rinse thoroughly.

Lipstick and waterproof eyeliner as to show how this amazing oil works
Small and convenient to use. I can bring it during travel
Gently massage to dissolve make-up. Look at the shiny leftover oil.
And now after washing with water. Yet to do second cleanse.

Look at how clean it could be even after first cleansing. It dissolve make-up and dirt easily that we don't have to scrub or massage it so hard. I use it for my eyes and lips too. This natural cleansing oil is gentle enough for everyday use. However, when look at the packaging, the expired date usually don't last long. As mentioned, this is all natural ingredients with no paraben or minerals. Nothing much to worry especially when we are using something for our delicate face.

Retailed at RM 99 at Watson Outlet across Malaysia.  Overseas buyers, I believe it is not hard to hunt for this cleansing oil. You could go and search for it.. You won't regret trying   this amazing cleansing oil.  <3

Remember to use your normal cleansing after the cleansing oil. Best if using those hydration cleanser or whitening cleanser. I will share more on the next post.

Blessed Week ahead!!

ZA BB Cream UV

This would be my third post talking about ZA. This time would be this cute little item "ZA Total Hydration BB Cream UV" I saw this at Watson Bugis and the packaging is really attractive - I saw some beautiful flowers (so vintage) on the packaging.

I think that's the reason I walked over to the counter and have a try. It stated there 12 in 1 BB Natural, light coverage and moisturizing with SFT 43 PA +++. Wow!! a perfect coverage to protect skin from UVA and UVB.

It claims to provide a healthy glowing look! This highly moisturizing formula infuses skin with minerals and keeps our skin more resistant to damage. Its smooth and lightweight texture imparts high coverage and even finish. With the high sunscreen content, it definitely protects our skin from harmful sun rays.

How not to buy and try!!! Such a nice packaging..
So what's in this BB cream - 12 main ingredients -

4 skincare ingredients- Moisturizing Effect

Sebum Holding Powder to relieve stickiness, Vitamin B derivative to keep skin fresh, Amino Mineral Complex to moisturize and minimize pores and Prism Enhancer to make skin luminous clarity.

6 foundation elements - Foundation Effects

Work as base makeup, concealing pores and dark spots, correcting uneven colour, lightening skin colour and creating healthy skin tone.

Wow.. really love what was mentioned in the box of this BB cream. I always like something not too creamy and I want something lightweight. It gave me instant dewy and radiant complexion. Ahhh... Loving it..

SPF 43 PA+++

It has two kinds of protection. SFT 43 that provides longer protection again the sun. Comes with PA+++ that protect us from UVA and UVB.

My personal opinion on this BB Cream - I like that it's not those creamy type that makes your skin feel oily. Instead, I feel hydrated and even when I removed the BB cream, it doesn't makes my skin dry or flaky.  One thing we should remember, we have to double cleanse our skin regarding of what product we use, be it BB cream, sun block or foundation.

ZA Hydration BB Cream gives a natural coverage, whereby the texture is not thick. For those who would like a thinker coverage, this BB Cream may not be for you. I use this cream at office hour and switch to my foundation for night outing (make-up) as I prefer to look natural during office hour. This is a good stuff to use.. Yeah!!

On the very first time, when I saw it, it is not available in Malaysia yet. But I went for window shopping last week and found out its in Malaysia already. Selling at Rm 26.90.

Do take a look at try them out. Its at affordable price with great ingredients.
